Photovoltaic Installation of 550MW power | Promoting Sustainable energy

At A&G Powering Construction, we take pride in providing specialized construction solutions aimed at sustainable progress and development. One of our most recent projects—a photovoltaic station installation with a total capacity of 550 MW, located within the lignite center of Western Macedonia, near the lignite deposits of the southern field in the Akrini area—exemplifies our commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure. Our extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the photovoltaic industry made possible such a construction.

This project is the largest renewable energy project in Greece, as the photovoltaic park will have a capacity of 550 MW and cover an area of 13,225,121 m², divided into five distinct sections. The construction timeline is set for 22 months, and the project is of exceptional importance for the de-lignification of Western Macedonia. The contracting authority is PPC Renewables, the project was awarded to TERNA, which entrusted part of its construction to A&G Powering Construction. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2025, with the agreement signed in June 2024.

The state-of-the-art Solar Tracker system by NEXT TRACKER has been meticulously designed and implemented to maximize performance and reliability. A&G's specialized teams, utilizing advanced methodologies for the construction of electrical and mechanical installations, ensure the quality and rapid completion of the project. This is a project executed within the framework of a structured cooperation agreement, adhering to the highest industry standards for safety, durability, and performance.

Beyond the technical complexity, the installation will deliver significant environmental benefits, harnessing solar energy to its fullest potential through the panel support (tracker) system. The system is expected to produce clean, renewable electricity, scientifically proven to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower CO₂ emissions. Such an "energy transformation" directly translates to a measurable reduction in the carbon footprint of the region, contributing to both local and global sustainability goals.

Through this initiative, A&G Powering Construction continues to lead in the field of electromechanical construction, providing future energy solutions aligned with global climate goals, fostering innovation in the renewable energy sector.
